Rycote Classic Softie
The Rycote Classic-Softie sets the standard for slip-on microphone wind protection, with advanced materials, adhesives, and assembly techniques that combine to create an extremely tough product. Specially designed open-cell foam and synthetic fur offer up to 25 dB of wind-noise reduction with very little adverse effect on high frequencies, and the open-cell internal foam is impervious to UV and moisture damage, making it a trusted tool for years of effective use in the harshest environments.
In 1969, Rycote introduced the world's first microphone windshield system for location sound and electronic news-gathering (ENG), and since then, the company has been honored with a Technical Achievement Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, continuing to set the standard for professional microphone wind shielding and handling noise reduction.
The Softie windshields are available in a large range of sizes to fit most popular shotgun microphones, and the 5cm Classic-Softie is designed to fit microphones with slots no further than 5cm from the front of the mic and 19 to 22mm in diameter, making it suitable for use with Røde NT-55, Audio-Technica AT4053, Sennheiser ME40, ME62, ME64, Schoeps CMC Series, and other similar-sized shotgun mics.
